Part to full shade; medium moisture level; forms on logs and also on thin soil over acidic rocks; acidic pH.  1 to 3 inches height.

Description:  Attractive moss with glossy leaves forming thick, soft carpets ranging from brilliant green to darker yellow-green in color. Gets its common name of Brocade Moss from the fact that it looks a bit like emerald embroidery.  It is evergreen with both fall and winter interest.
