Part shade, medium to moderately dry moisture level, adapts to a variety of soils including clay but prefers rocky or sandy.  1-2 ft. height, blooms spring into summer, white to pale blue flowers.

Native Region:  Primarily in Central Basin Plateau of Middle Tennessee

Attractive flower that looks best in clusters.  Dislikes competition and prefers barren ground where vegetation is sparse.  Attracts birds. (Delphinium virescens, Prairie Larkspur, is a sub-species of D. carolinianum.)
