Full to part sun, wet to moderately wet moisture level, prefers fertile soil but tolerates most soils except rocky, moderately acid to neutral pH.  1-4 feet height, spreads at a moderate rate by re-seeding.

Cool season.  Loves wet woods, pond edges, swamps and ditches.  Ideal plant for wetland restoration.  Attracts butterflies.
