Dappled sunlight in spring and shade in summer, moderately wet to medium moisture level, humusy rich soil, circumneutral pH.  3-10 inches height, blooms in early spring, white flowers.

One of the earliest wildflowers to bloom.  Easy to overlook because of its small clusters of tiny white flowers and low growth habit.  Normally found in high quality deciduous woodlands.  Attracts bees.
