Ozark Calamint, Limestone Calamint Clinopodium arkansanum (Calamintha arkansana) Full sun; medium to dry moisture level; rocky, thin soil; alkaline pH. 6-12 inches height, blooms summer into fall, light blue to lavender flowers. Forms colonies from underground stolons just below the soil surface. Germination Code: ? Native Region: Only occurs in Wilson and Rutherford counties. An aromatic herb with rich mint scent and flavor. Relishes hot, dry sites and is a good plant for rock gardens and rock walls.
