Native Region:  Statewide and most concentrated in the Blue Ridge and the Ridge and Valley provinces

Similar in appearance to Carolina Elephant’s Foot but has large, densely hairy basal leaves.  Occurs in upland forests, sandy woodlands, clearings, old fields and road sides.
