Part to full shade, medium moisture level, light sandy loam with plenty of humus, slightly acid to neutral pH.  6-20 inches height, blooms in early summer, yellow flowers.

This plant prefers moist, rich woodlands and thickets.  Easy to grow. Because the blooms hang down and are not as showy as other wildflowers, be careful where you step and take time to observe these dainty wildflowers.
