Full sun, wet to moderately wet moisture level, adapted to most soils except rocky, moderately acid to alkaline pH.  3-5 ft. height, blooms in spring, coppery red flowers, spreads by rhizomes at a moderate rate.

Native Region:  Coastal Plain Province of West Tennessee

Designated a “Threatened Species” in Tennessee.  Naturally occurs in wet swampy soil.  Showy flowers.  Attracts hummingbirds.

    I love this Iris variety for its color and small size. I am hoping to get some to take hold in my yard and multiply over the years!
