Full sun, moderately wet to moderately dry moisture level, tolerant of a wide range of soils including clay, circumneutral pH.  4 feet height, blooms late summer and fall, yellow flowers, spreads aggressively by rhizomes and slowly by seed.

Native Region:  Only occurs in Shelby, Carroll, Henderson, Chester, Van Buren, Scott, Meigs, and Hamblen counties

Can be weedy and invasive.  Attracts birds, bees and butterflies.
