Part shade to light shade, moderately wet to medium moisture level, humus-rich soil, slightly acid to neutral pH.  1-1.5 ft. height, blooms in spring, blue flowers, freely self-seeds in optimum growing conditions.

Charming plant with showy flowers for the woodland garden. Easy to grow.  Will go dormant in summer under drought conditions or if planted in full sun.  Attracts bees and butterflies.
