Light to medium shade, medium to moderately dry moisture level, humusy soil, moderately acid pH.  2-4 inches height, blooms in spring, brown to greenish purple flowers.

Germination Code:  C(90); seeds may require 2 years to germinate.

Native Region:  Limited to 5 counties scattered statewide — Shelby, Hamilton, Marion, Franklin and Roane

Evergreen groundcover.  Slow-growing and tends to remain in isolated clusters.  Beautiful, jewel-like additions to the southeastern woodland garden.
