Full to part sun, wet to moderately wet moisture level, adaptable to most soils except rocky, moderately acid to neutral pH.  1-2 feet height, spreads slowly by re-seeding and aggressively by rhizomes.

Native Region:  Lightly statewide, primarily in West and Middle Tennessee

Cool season.  Neat, clump-forming sedge that looks like a miniature cattail.  Decorative seedheads persist into the winter months.
