Part shade, medium to moderately dry moisture level, rich soil, acidic to neutral pH.  4-10 inches height, blooms spring into summer, yellow flowers, will colonize by re-seeding and rhizomes without being aggressive.

This plant often has hairy leaves and stems, hence the common name.  Blossoms make good candy, jam, jelly, syrup and wine.  Edible leaves are high in Vitamin A and C.   Attracts butterflies and bees.

    These little guys are welcomed visitors among my front lawn. I didn’t realize the blossoms were edible. I’m looking forward to doing more research on these types of techniques!
