Part to full shade, medium moisture level, rich soil preferred but will grow in a wide range of soils including clay.  1-3 ft. height, blooms in spring, white flowers.

Germination Code:  C(60)   Difficult to grow from seed.  Seed requires 1 to 8 months to germinate.

Native Region:  Middle and East Tennessee, especially in the Blue Ridge Province

Nice plant for a woodland garden.  Leaves, root and seed are edible and have an anise-like flavor.
