Full sun to light shade, wet to moderately wet moisture level, prefers mucky or slightly sandy soil but is tolerant of clay, very strongly acid to neutral pH.  2 feet height, spreads slowly by seed and moderately fast by rhizomes.

Native Region:  Only occurs in 5 counties – Obion, Stewart, Montgomery, Lewis and Rhea

Cool season.  Designated a “Threatened Species” in Tennessee.  One of the more ornamental sedges used in rain gardens but must not be allowed to dry out.  Very adaptable, grows in any damp soil.
