Scrophularia marilandica

Part sun to light shade, medium to moderately dry moisture level, tolerant of a wide range of soils but prefers loamy or sandy.  3-6 feet height, blooms summer into fall, greenish-brown flowers.

Native Region:  Scattered statewide except absent in southeast corner of the state

Easy to grow.  Tolerates up to 70% shade.  Since the flowers are not very showy, plant is not often grown in gardens. Figworts have strange little flowers that attract many bees and wasps as well as hummingbirds.  It is a highly rated pollinator plant that is not well known.

      I hope you can find what you are looking for. Unfortunately herbicides are not our specialty but I bet your local county extension agent is just the right place to contact.
